I'm 42 years young and have had several experiences in my life. I'm an applications developer and IT guy by trade but my avocation is magic and magic history and the paranormal. I'm also a long-time columnist for a local newspaper and journalist in my free time. I have written the column "Dont Blink" in the Times News for the last seven years. It focuses on strange news, magic, paranormal phenomena and related areas. This has also gotten me involved in ghost hunting and paranormal investigations which I approach with an open but skeptical mind.
I have strong interests in mathematics, words and wordplay, language, writing, games and game design (both video and board but design is mostly in board and card games), political philosophy, metaphysics. I also am an avid trivia buff and enjoy reading a variety of topics from history to self-help to metaphysics and some fiction. I try to remain well rounded.
In my spare time, I have done origami, crochet, taught myself to tat, knit, paper crafting and other items. Mostly because all of those activities have a firm grounding and connection to mathematics, systems and patterns.
I'm also a volunteer and active in the local historical society and President of the Board of Directors for a GAR Cemetery in my town. Recently I also became Vice President of the Heritage Center in my community in a move with a group of people to save a local historical church building. My interest in history take me to Gettysburg on a regular basis for pilgrimages and I'm most interested in the Civil War period of history as well as ancient history.
Over the years, I have been an entrepreneur having run an online mail order business, a magic shop and an entertainment business. I am also a professional magician for the past 20 years and dabble on some weekends as a pro wrestling manager for some small indy promotions as the hated "DIrector", a major bad guy.
I have a wide range of interests and enjoy sharing.
